Dallas Mayor Issues Emergency Stay-at-Home Regulations

Stay-At-Home County Orders Issued by Judge Jenkins – Coronavirus Outbreak

Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson has recently issued emergency regulations that will enforce the county’s stay-at-home order in parts of the city that don’t fall under the county’s jurisdictions. Mayor Johnson provided this explanation in a statement issued to the public:

“This step is necessary to ensure that our enforcement efforts across the city are uniform and to clarify any confusion among Dallas residents about the many emergency orders they may have been hearing about.”

In a city as big as Dallas, there are multiple counties, and as a result, there may be residents who are confused as to what emergency orders affect them. As a direct result of this order, five counties of Dallas–Collin, Denton, Kaufman, and Rockwall–will have uniform orders, clearing any confusion citizens may have.

The Coronavirus continues to spread across the globe and cause pandemonium amongst communities. With new cases being reported daily, Dallas. Currently, Dallas has closed all bars, fitness facilities, and amusement centers while limiting restaurants to takeout, delivery, or drive-thru only. Limiting contact and group settings is an essential step that must be taken to flatten the curve and stop the spreading of this virus, and the city’s emergency orders will be in place until at least April 29.

City officials are urging individuals to Stay-at-Home unless they are leaving the house to conduct essential tasks such as replenishing groceries or medicine. If individuals must leave their homes for any reason, they are urged to use face coverings or ventilators to protect themselves from the COVID-19 virus. In addition to this, non-essential businesses are being ordered to shut down until this pandemic is over.
